Annual Conference 2010
The Annual Conference of the Rocky Mountain Conference of the United Methodist Church was held this year at the Denver Marriott Tech Center from June 17-20th.
Park Hill UMC's Conference Delegation included Lay Delegate Dawn Givens, Equalization Delegates Kevin Baker and Davis Carter (youth), Judy Orrechio and Kunle Taiwo (PHUMC Lay Leader).
The Voices of Park Hill sung "He Never Failed Me Yet" and Rickie Moyer played a handbell solo at the Worship Service honoring the lives of eighteen clergy and spouses who had died since last year.
The Park Hill Delegation voted on petitions during the legislative and plenary sessions, and attended the Lay Luncheon, where Davis Carter's Grandmother was awarded a "Quiet Disciple Award." Along with other youth attending the conference from Colorado, Utah and Wyoming, the youth attended various youth activities and a barbeque dinner at the home of one of the youth delegates from St. Andrews United Methodist Church.
![]() Davis Carter and Kevin Baker also assisted with the Worship Service on Saturday, and, along with the other youth delegates, were presented with books purchased from Cokesbury by Bishop Elaine Stanovsky during the final plenary session.
The Keynote Speaker at Annual Conference was Rev. Adam Hamilton of the Church of the Resurrection near Kansas City, who challenged the conference attendees to work to make their home churches more vibrant and vital.Annual Conference 2010 was an inspirational and productive event.
