Mission

The Missions Team of Park Hill UMC works continuously to provide community outreach and global responsibility.

Park Hill UMC has two established meal programs, and "Green Ministries Committee" to help us as a church community to reduce our carbon footprint.

We have two meal programs that provide nutritious meals once a month, separately, to the VOA Senior Resource Center and at the Agape Christian Church in downtown Denver. Join us!

Adult Mission Trips Planned for 2013 and 2014

The Adult Mission Trip Task Force is very pleased with the response we have received from PHUMC members in regards to our three adult trips we have planned. We have had good response for all three of the trips planned. There is still time and room for YOU to get involved.

La Puenta - The La Puenta is a non-profit organization located in Alamosa, CO, serving the San Luis Valley. It provides emergency shelter, food assistance, transitional housing and much more to help struggling individuals and families. The approximate cost of this trip is $200 per person plus some meals. We will sleep on cots in the local United Methodist church. For those who don't want to sleep on a cot in the church,we are also looking into the possibility of staying in a local motel. The plan is to leave the afternoon of Sunday, August 18th and return on Saturday, August 24th. Fifteen people have shown interest in this trip.

Haiti – An International trip is planned for an orphanage in Haiti on October 11-19. Our volunteer work will include helping rebuild their chapel, which was destroyed by this year's hurricane. We think there will also be volunteer work needed in addition to construction work. Eleven PHUMC members have shown interest in this trip. Although, we are limited in the number of participants on this trip, let us know, as soon as possible, if you are interested. This trip may fill up. The cost of this trip is $900 per person plus airfare to Haiti.

“A Journey through the Bible” - Israel – This trip is being planned for sometime in February or March of 2014. The trip will be led by Rev. Eric Smith. The cost of this trip is $3000 per person plus airfare to New York City. Start saving your money. Thirteen PHUMC members have indicated an interest in this trip. Watch for more details on this trip.
