Tell us about your family.
My father is a semi-retired general contractor. My mother is a homemaker. My two brothers are also general contractors. I have three children - Hannah, Nathan and Rebecca.
Where did you go to college, grad school? What were your degrees?
My first two years of undergraduate studies were done at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. I received my Bachelor of Music from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1986. I received my Master of Music in Organ Performance with minor emphases in choral conducting and piano pedagogy from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1989.
When did you have a call to ministry?
At 12 years old.

Since 1976.
What is your favorite part of your current position?
Working with my volunteer musicians. They are what make PHUMC shine.
What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." Philippians 4:13
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. If God is for us, who can be against us? In all things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." Romans 8: 28,31,37
God is my strength and my shield against all earthly and spiritual trials. Thanks be to God!
What is your favorite quality of God?
His never-ending love and mercy.
