La Puente, Alamosa, Colorado – The trip will is from Sunday, after church, August 18 through, Saturday, August 24. La Puente staff are checking on housing accommodations which might be floor space at a local church. Some of our church members are considering staying at a hotel in Alamosa. We will volunteer Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and travel on Sunday and Saturday using the church van and other vehicles as necessary. Wednesday will be a sightseeing day. Possible work projects include light construction, painting, gardening, working in a food bank or shelter and meal preparation. The approximate cost per volunteer is less than $200. If you are interested in participating in this work trip to the poorest part of our state, please make a deposit of $50 by check made out to the church, plus a completed application by June 5, and give them to Ruth Ann Russell.

Fondwa, Haiti - Our possible new dates are October 12-19, 2013. We will stay in a dorm style guest house with filtered water, one flush toilet and some electricity, about 40 miles from Port-au-Prince. Meals will be included in the cost of $900 per volunteer plus air fare from Denver through Miami to Port-au-Prince. No visa is required. A passport, will be required plus general vaccinations. A detailed handout is available from John Basham or Lauren Boyd. If you are interested in participating in this work trip to one of the poorest countries in the world, please fill out an application and return it with a deposit of $200 by check (payable to the church) by June 5 to John Basham.

Israel, late February or early March, 2014. Our group leader will be Rev. Dr. Eric Smith.  We have no limit on the number of participants for this trip. We are considering a Basic Holy Land trip (seven days) or a longer Living Stones Mission to the Holy Land (ten days). Eric assures us this will be a life changing pilgrimage for all who participate. We will meet on Sunday, June 2, following the 10:00 service to determine which trip to take and then a date for the trip will be determined by June 15. The approximate cost per person will be, all inclusive in first class hotels, $2598 plus air fare to New York City. Please attend the June 2 meeting if interested or contact John Basham.
