Adult Program
Chancel Choir:
The Chancel Choir is the musical backbone of the 11:00 AM worship service, striving for excellence in providing a variety of spirit-filled choral music, ranging from classical to gospel and contemporary. The choir is led by Director, Ricki Moyer (ricki@phumc.org, 303-3221867 ext. 211) and Accompanist, Margo Hoos (margo310@gmail.com.) Rehearsals are Thursday evenings from 6:45 - 8:45 PM in Room 205. The Chancel Choir participates in the 11:00 worship service every Sunday morning from September through May, as well as special services throughout the year. New members are always welcome to join this vital ministry and fellowship of singers.
Gospel Choir:
The Gospel Choir brings life to our 9:00am worship through the richness and soul both traditional and contemporary black gospel music. The choir is led by Director and Accompanist, Gary Grundei, and rehearses Thursday evenings in the Chapel. The Gospel Choir participates in the 9:00 worship service the first through fourth Sundays of every month during the program year (September through May). New members are always welcome.
 Voices of Park Hill Easter Choir
Praise and Worship Team Our Praise and Worship Team is a highly-skilled group of musicians who lead our 9:00 AM worship service. Band members include Worship Leader, Gary Grundei on piano and the Worship Band. Praise and Worship Singers are auditioned and invited to sing on teams organized by Director, Ricki Moyer and Worship Leader, Gary Grundei. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings. The Praise and Worship Band and Singers are present at every 9:00 worship service as well as other blended and special services throughout the calendar year. Solos and Small Ensembles Solos and small ensembles, from duets to octets, are organized by Director, Ricki Moyer (ricki@phumc.org or 303.322.1867 x 211), for Sunday morning services and special occasions. Groups include voices of every range and skill level. The Voices of Park Hill The Voices of Park Hill gives all singers within and outside of the congregation the unique opportunity to participate in a high-quality musical presentation on a short-term basis. This ensemble of singers participates in special musical and worship experiences such as Good Friday, The Festival of Lights, Christmas Eve and many other special service and concert occasions. Since 2009, the Voices of Park Hill has represented PHUMC in community outreach events by singing the National Anthem at the Nuggets and Rockies games. Director, Ricki Moyer (ricki@phumc.org or 303.322.1867 x 211), leads this dynamic group of musicians. Adult Bell Choir The Adult Bell Choir (Celebration Ringers), under the leadership of Claire Parker (clairedenver@comcast.net or 303.316.4501), continues to grow and develop beautiful English Handbell sounds and techniques in its unique way of “making a joyful noise to the Lord.” The Ringers can be heard in both worship services every third Sunday, and also offers its music at special church occasions. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary. If you ring bells, or would like to , come and join us. Youth Music Program
The “Con Brio” (ages 3-4) and “Spark” (grades K-5) Choirs provide an opportunity for the younger members of the congregation to sing to the Lord. The “Spark Bells” teaches our K-5 graders to ring handbells. These musical groups rehearse Sundays from 10:00 - 11:00 AM (Vocal Choirs in Room 205; Bell Choir in Room 216). The vocal choirs are under the direction of Jennifer Arnold (jenay2@earthlink.net or 303.918.5938) and Accompanist, Janet Arnold (janet.arnold@coloradoacademy.org). These choirs sing one service each month during the program year (September through May) and prepare two Musical Productions (music and drama) - one in December for Christmas, and another in the spring after Easter. These musicals are coordinated with Park Hill’s Director of Children’s Ministries, Judy Orecchio (judyophumc@hotmail.com or 303.322.1867 ext. 208.) Park Hill Dance and Drama Ensembles Special worship services and occasions are often enhanced by dance and/or drama teams. The role of music in worship has been well defined over the years, and Park Hill UMC has had a rich and varied tradition. Opportunities are provided for adults, youth and children to participate in a variety of musical offerings.
